LeBron’s 24 points, Love’s double-double lead Cavs over Bucks, 116-97

Six Cavaliers scored in double figures, and Cleveland out-rebounded Milwaukee, 44-30.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — LeBron James and Kevin Love took care of the paint. Once Kyle Korver got going from 3-point range, the Cleveland Cavaliers became nearly unstoppable.

James had 24 points and eight assists, Korver hit three straight 3s during a decisive third-quarter run and the Cavaliers beat the Bucks 116-97 on Friday night to spoil Milwaukee’s home opener.

Love added 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Cavs. Their 15-5 spurt over the final 4:25 of the third quarter, sparked by Korver’s long-range shooting, opened a 13-point lead. They led by double digits most of the rest the way.

“Kyle, he came out and he really gave us a spark shooting the basketball,” coach Tyronn Lue said. “With his movement and him running around, he kind of throws defenses off.”

And the Cavs handed Milwaukee its first loss of the season. The defending Eastern Conference champions opened with a second straight victory over an East contender after beating Boston in their home opener.

Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetopounmpo had 34 points on 15-of-22 shooting, along with eight rebounds and eight assists. Malcolm Brogdon was the only other Buck in double digits with 16 points.

Antetopounmpo, as usual, wheeled his 6-foot-11 frame into the lane for an array of athletic buckets . But the Cavs limited nearly everyone else after doing a better job of closing out on 3-point shooters.

“We executed the defensive plan that our coaches gave us. The results were us getting a big win on the road,” James said.

The Cavs were 2 of 10 from 3-point range in the first half, but powered their way to a 55-49 halftime lead by attacking the basket . They were nearly unstoppable once they found their shot from long range.

“Against good teams, you have to give up something, and the 2s weren’t what hurt us. The 3s did,” coach Jason Kidd said.

At one point, James hesitated for a couple seconds after being left alone at the top of the 3-point arc. Antetopounmpo then took a couple steps out from near the bucket before James hit the open look for a 101-86 lead with 6:19 left.

“It’s a lot tougher, we gave them a lot of open looks,” Antetopounmpo said about defending the Cavs once they start hitting from 3. “You’re chasing guys to the 3-point line and the paint gets wide open so you get easy layups and it’s hard to defend, it’s harder to rebound.”

TIP-INS

Cavaliers: Six Cavs scored in double figures. … After hitting at least 10 3s in all four meetings last season with Milwaukee, the Cavaliers finished 11 of 26 from behind the arc. They were 9 of 16 in the second half. … Cleveland missed its first eight 3-pointers before Korver hit two in a row in late in the second quarter. … Love had an active first half with 13 points and six rebounds.

Bucks: Brogdon and Tony Snell (nine points) combined to start 3 of 5 from 3-point range in the first quarter, converting on open looks after defenders converged on driving teammates in the lane. The Bucks cooled off and went 3 of 16 the rest of the first half from behind the arc. … The team signed F Joel Bolomboy to a two-way contract. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 1.8 points and 1.4 rebounds as a rookie last season for Utah.

FIGURING IT OUT

Lue is still figuring out the rotation with three new starters. Korver was one of the biggest beneficiaries after not taking a shot in 7 minutes in the opener against Boston. Korver finished with 17 points and was 5 of 6 from 3-point territory.

“I hadn’t had a shot yet. The season’s got to start at some point, right?” Korver asked rhetorically. “Why not right now?”

INJURY REPORT

Cavs G Derrick Rose (12 points) had a sore ankle during a play in which he was fouled under the bucket by Bucks C Greg Monroe. Lue said that backup Jose Calderon would likely start on Saturday against Orlando.

FOR STARTERS

The game marked the final opener in the Bucks’ 30th season playing at the Bradley Center. A new arena on an adjacent lot is scheduled to open for next season.

Raiders’ Marshawn Lynch suspended game for shoving official

Oakland running back Marshawn Lynch was suspended for one game without pay by the NFL

NEW YORK (AP) — Oakland running back Marshawn Lynch was suspended for one game without pay by the NFL on Friday for shoving a game official during the Raiders’ victory over Kansas City on Thursday night.

Lynch was ejected from the game after he shoved line judge Julian Mapp.

The scuffle started when Oakland quarterback Derek Carr was hit late on a run by Kansas City’s Marcus Peters midway through the second quarter. Raiders offensive linemen Kelechi Osemele and Donald Penn immediately confronted Peters, and Lynch sprinted onto the field from the bench to join the fray. Mapp tried to break up the fight, but Lynch pushed him and grabbed his jersey. Lynch also got a personal foul.

NFL vice president of football operations Jon Runyan wrote a letter to Lynch, saying:

“You made deliberate physical contact with one of our game officials as he was diffusing an active confrontation between players. You were disqualified for your inappropriate and unsportsmanlike actions. Your conduct included pushing the game official and grabbing his jersey. … You were not directly involved in the active confrontation that the game official was attempting to diffuse, nor were you a participant in the play that initiated the confrontation. You were the only player from either team who ran from the sideline to midfield to insert himself into a situation in which he was not directly involved.”

Lynch will be eligible to return to Oakland’s active roster on Oct. 30, the day after the Raiders’ game against the Buffalo Bills.

Lynch finished the game with two carries for 9 yards.

The Raiders rallied to win 31-30 on a touchdown pass by Carr on the final play, and Lynch was in the locker room after the game congratulating his teammates.

Lynch came out of retirement this season and was traded from Seattle to the Raiders. Lynch said he wanted to make a comeback so he could give something back to his hometown of Oakland before the Raiders move to Las Vegas in 2020.

Lynch has rushed for 266 yards and two touchdowns in seven games.

Jenna Jameson is not happy with Playboy’s choice to feature its first ever transgender Playmate, the French model Ines Rau, in its November issue.

The former adult entertainer told Fox News, “I just think it’s a ridiculous attempt by Playboy to stay relevant. It is a foolish decision that alienates its consumer base.”

We unsuccessfully reached out to Playboy for comment. But Cooper Hefner, the son of late founder Hugh Hefner, told the New York Times: “It’s the right thing to do. We’re at a moment where gender roles are evolving.”

Victoria’s Secret Angel Sara Sampaio says Lui Magazine published nude cover without her consent

Sara Sampaio ‘Couldn’t Believe It’ When She Got Her Angel Wings

Portuguese supermodel Sara Sampaio tells FNM about the moment she found out she was one of Victoria’s Secret’s newest Angels.

Sara Sampaio took to Instagram Thursday to claim French magazine Lui not only reportedly pressured her to go nude, but also published those topless photos without her consent.

The adult entertainment publication features the 26-year-old Portuguese model in their autumn 2017 issue. The image shows Sampaio wearing white briefs and a furry shrug with her breasts exposed.

The Victoria’s Secret Angel insisted she only agreed to do the shoot under very specific conditions. However, when Sampaio appeared on set, she was reportedly “aggressively pressured” to pose nude.

“Throughout the shoot day, I needed to constantly defend myself and reiterate my boundaries with no nude images, making sure I covered myself as best as I could,” said Sampaio.

Sampaio added things only got worse from there. When she reviewed the images, she felt her body was too exposed and made it clear she didn’t want those photos published.

“The magazine lied and provided to publish the cover image of me with nudity, which was in clear violation of our agreement,” she said.

As a result, Sampaio confirmed she will “pursue legal action” against Lui.

“I want to do what I can to prevent this from happening to me again, and to others,” she said.

A post shared by Sara Sampaio (@sarasampaio) on Aug 14, 2017 at 9:53am PDT

This isn’t the first time Lui has unveiled a risqué cover. Back in 2015, the New York Daily News reported Lui featured 12 topless models from around the world for their double December/January issue. The images were also used in a calendar to benefit breast cancer research.

That same year, Italian actress/model Monica Bellucci also appeared on the cover of Lui, but she chose to appear semi-clothed.

Sampaio is standing by her experience and hopes it will shed some light on the mistreatment models tend to face within the fashion industry.

“I feel violated, mistreated and disrespected as a professional and as a woman,” she wrote. “Sadly, this is not an isolated incident, and I am not alone.”

Sean Penn battles with Netflix over ‘El Chapo’ documentary series

“[B]lood will be on their hands.”

That’s what Sean Penn’s lawyers are saying about Netflix in regard to their release of a documentary series about drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman which, they warn, could put the Academy Award-winning actor in danger.

Theodore J. Boutrous Jr., Penn’s lawyer, wrote a letter to Netflix explaining that the release of “The Day I Met El Chapo: The Kate del Castillo Story” could potentially put Penn in danger because the series implied the actor helped the Department of Justice apprehend the notorious head of the Sinaloa drug cartel, The New York Times reported.

Boutrous told the streaming service in the letter, “blood will be on their hands if this film causes bodily harm.”

The series, which was released Friday, focused on del Castillo, a Mexican actress, and Penn’s October 2015 meeting with Guzman. Penn wrote an article for the Rolling Stone detailing the interview, which was facilitated by del Castillo. The essay was published a day after the drug lord was recaptured in Mexico.

Penn claimed he had nothing to do with Guzman’s recapture.

Last year, Penn told Charlie Rose that he met the drug lord in a “place nowhere near where he was captured.” He also told Rose the accusations that he helped in Guzman’s capture were “incorrect and could put him in danger.”

“It is reprehensible that, in their ongoing, relentless efforts to gain additional attention and publicity, Ms. del Castillo and her team (who have zero firsthand knowledge) have sought to create this profoundly false, foolish and reckless narrative,” Penn’s spokesman told The New York Times.

COULD SEAN PENN’S ‘EL CHAPO’ INTERVIEW MEAN TROUBLE FOR THE ACTOR?

“The notion that Mr. Penn or anyone on his behalf alerted DOJ (Department of Justice) to the trip is a complete fabrication and boldfaced lie. It never happened, nor would there have been any reason for it to have happened.”

Netflix responded that Penn was “given the opportunity on multiple occasions to participate” but he did not. Netflix reiterated the documentary does not reveal any new information but gave del Castillo her chance to tell her side of the story.

‘Little House on the Prairie’ cast recall working with Michael Landon

It’s been 43 years since the western drama “Little House on the Prairie” made its grand debut on television – and its stars still insist they’re like family.

It’s been 43 years since the Western drama “Little House on the Prairie” made its grand debut on television — and its stars still insist they’re like family.

The series, which starred Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert, among others, ran until 1983.

“There was no real cast drama because Michael [Landon] would not allow it,” said Alison Arngrim, who played “nasty Nellie,” to Closer Weekly Friday. “I think we are the only cast that never had any arrests!”

The 55-year-old also added, “[Michael] knew exactly what he wanted with every shot and every scene.”

A post shared by @murielfoenkinos on Oct 16, 2017 at 4:37am PDT

Landon’s widow Cindy confirmed the claim.

“If you watch ‘Little House,’ truly it was like watching Michael,” she said. “The love that he had for his family, the type of person he was – it was all apparent.”

Rachel Greenbush, who starred as Carrie Ingalls alongside twin sister Sidney, also had fond memories of working with Landon.

A post shared by @melissawithoutsueanderson on Oct 12, 2017 at 8:35am PDT

“For all the kids’ birthdays, he would have a cake made and throw a little party,” she recalled. “When it was time to work, you had to be focused.”

And while Landon expected hard work from everyone involved in the beloved show, he wasn’t afraid to get out of character to many anyone smile. Greenbush revealed he “was a big practical joker.”

“We used to go with Melissa [Gilbert] to catch frogs in the creek,” she said. “We would bring them back to Michael, and then he would put them in his mouth and walk up to people, open his mouth and the frog would jump out! People would freak out!”

But that wasn’t the only surprise the cast would encounter. The publication added that when production moved from Paramount Studios to MGM in the late ‘70s, they made an unlikely discovery.

“They were ripping up the floor of the set, and what Melissa [Gilbert] and I see, lying beneath, was the Yellow Brick Road [from the 1939 ‘Wizard of Oz’ set]!” said Arngrim. “Melissa and I went nuts. We were dancing around, singing the song, pretending to be Dorothy!”

“Little House on the Prairie” would go on to stay in the top 30 ratings for nearly its entire nine-year run. But when it finally came to an end, Landon was eager to go out with a bang.

“He literally strapped dynamite on all those buildings and blew them to smithereens in one take,” said Melissa Francis, who played Cassandra Cooper Ingalls.

Landon passed away in 1991 at age 54 from cancer of the liver and pancreas. Arngrim previously told Fox News that “Little House on the Prairie” is currently airing in 140 countries and has kept her busy traveling to make appearances, especially in France where the show has a cult following.

“When the show first stopped back in the ‘80s, I and a lot of the other actors thought people would stop talking about it… [but] it began rerunning in all the other countries,” she explained. “It didn’t go away, it only escalated.

“I get recognized more now than I did when the show was running… There was a time in my 20s when I would say I didn’t want to be recognized as Nellie forever… but Nellie was a lot of fun to play… Indeed, I thought I’d be sick of it, but now, it just makes me smile.”

The Pussycat Dolls denied former member Kaya Jones’ claims that the all-girl group functioned as a “prostitution ring” and the singers were “passed around” and “abused.”

In a statement to Fox News, the Pussycat Dolls criticized Jones’ claims, stating they could not “stand behind false allegations towards other group members partaking in activities that simply did not take place.”

“The Pussycat Dolls has always and will always stand for female empowerment and sisterhood,” the statement read. “We stand in solidarity with all women who have bravely spoken publicly of their horrific experiences of abuse, harassment and exploitation.”

EX-PUSSYCAT DOLLS SINGER KAYA JONES CLAIMS BAND WAS ‘PROSTITUTION RING,’ MEMBERS WERE ‘PASSED AROUND,’ ‘ABUSED’ BY INDUSTRY EXECS

In a series of tweets last Friday, Jones, 33, who was part of The Pussycat Dolls from 2003 to 2005, alleged that the group was a “prostitution ring.”

“I wasn’t in a girl group. I was in a prostitution ring. Oh & we happened to sing & be famous. While everyone who owned us made the $,” Jones tweeted.

“To be apart (sic) of the team you must be a team player. Meaning sleep with whoever they say,” Jones continued.

Jones also called the group’s founder, Robin Antin, “the den mother from hell” and criticized her for keeping silent when “another one of her girl group girls committed suicide.”

Social media users speculated Jones was referring to G.R.L. singer Simone Battle, who committed suicide in 2014 at age 25.

In an interview with The Blast on Monday, Antin slammed the allegations, calling them “disgusting, ridiculous lies,” and added Jones “is clearly looking for her 15 minutes.”

The group argued that the “prostitution ring” claim undermines what the Pussycat Dolls have achieved.

“To liken our professional roles in The Pussycat Dolls to a prostitution ring not only undermines everything we worked hard to achieve for all those years but also takes the spotlight off the millions of victims who are speaking up and being heard loud and clear around the world,” the statement continued.

The Pussycat Dolls claimed they were not aware of Jones’ alleged experiences and could “firmly testify” that no inappropriate conduct was occurring.

The statement concluded: “Since its inception, The Pussycat Dolls and founder Robin Antin have supported and empowered women from all walks of life to flourish in their careers. Should any member or associate allude to any form of abuse or harassment whatsoever, it will be taken very seriously and investigated. We truly wish Kaya the best and hope she gets the help she deserves.”

The Nicole Scherzinger-led group disbanded in 2010 but announced this month that they would be making a comeback.

Anti-Trump CNN host Chris Cuomo calls viewer a ‘lemming’ in nasty spat

CNN’s Chris Cuomo referred to a viewers as a “lemming” during a nasty Twitter exchange on Wednesday and it appears he has a new favorite insult that is derived from fake news.

The sometimes combative Cuomo is the brother of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo

CNN’s Chris Cuomo referred to a Trump-supporting viewer as a “lemming” during a nasty Twitter exchange on Wednesday, but in an ironic twist, the “New Day” host’s epithet of choice turns out to be borne of fake news.

“Lemming. Potus made fake claim about past prez to cover for his ignoring #niger ambush,” Cuomo tweeted to a viewer who accused him of using “dead soldiers” for ratings after a segment about how President Trump spoke to the widow of a fallen solider.

Lemming. Potus made fake claim about past prez to cover for his ignoring #niger ambush. https://t.co/mjsKoWKDl9

— Christopher C. Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) October 18, 2017

Being called a lemming could be extremely offensive to a Trump supporter, as it refers to a small rodent that is widely believed to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff simply because it is following its leader. A 1958 academy award-winning Disney documentary titled “White Wilderness” showed dozens of lemmings jumping to their deaths. Even though the BBC uncovered that the footage was fake, the reputation of lemmings never recovered.

Encyclopedia Britannica said “deliberate fraud” is responsible for the myth.

Cuomo used the term for a second time on Wednesday, perhaps to explain what he meant when the first reference didn’t garner the attention he desired, as he elaborated on the subsequent try.

UNDATED FILE PHOTO - If you go rambling in the mountains along Norway's vast coastline this year, you may be treated to the rare sight of hordes of Norwegian lemmings. — Christopher C. Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) October 18, 2017

He also responded to criticism on Tuesday by tweeting, “Don’t be a lemming!”

Cuomo, 47, who came to CNN from reliably liberal ABC News, is known for his frenetic interviewing style and unusual questions on CNN’s troubled morning program. He’s fully embraced CNN boss Jeff Zucker’s anti-Trump programming strategy. Cuomo’s older brother Andrew, the Democratic governor of New York, is known to harbor presidential aspirations.

Cuomo has sparred with members of the Trump administration whenever given the chance and has gotten particularly heated with Kellyanne Conway on multiple occasions. Last August she even called him an “amateur climatologist” when Cuomo insisted on talking about climate change during an interview about Hurricane Harvey disaster relief.

Calling a Trump supporters a “lemming” is hardly the first time the CNN anchor has criticized the president on Twitter. His feed is filled with snarky responses to Trump supporters and retweets of negative coverage of the administration.
